CSCC Information
The Interdivisional Group on Carbohydrate Chemistry (GICC) of the S.C.I. organizes the XIX School Conference on Carbohydrate Chemistry (XIX CSCC 2025), held biennially at the Certosa di Pontignano (Pontignano, Siena) from June 22 to 25, 2025. The Conference-School is aimed at PhD students, fellows, and young researchers working in both public and private institutions.
In addition to a series of advanced lectures on Carbohydrate Chemistry, the Conference-School will feature various invited talks and free communications, both oral and poster presentations.
Program
Scope of the School Meeting
The School Meeting on Carbohydrate Chemistry (XIX CSCC 2025) aims at offering a complete and up-to date overview of the current research on carbohydrate chemistry in Italy, both at an industrial and academic level. In particular, the Conference will focus on the structure, synthesis, Physico-chemical properties, biological aspects and industrial applications of mono-, oligo- and polysaccharides, glycosides, glycoconjugates, nucleosides and their mimetics and analogues.
The official language of the Meeting is English.
Plenary lectures, didactic lectures as well as oral communications and poster communications will take place during the event.

VENUE OF THE CONFERENCE (XIX CSCC 2025)
In keeping with the settings chosen for previous editions, the XIX CSCC 2025 will also have a venue and an organizational approach designed to maximize exchanges and interactions among participants. The School will be held at the Certosa di Pontignano, an oasis of peace located about 8 km from the center of Siena, in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga, Località Pontignano, in the heart of the Chianti Classico region.
The building, which dates back to the mid-1300s, after a complete renovation, uses the numerous existing spaces to host conferences and cultural events of national and international importance. In addition to conference rooms, it offers various accommodations to host event participants, fostering the creation of an informal atmosphere that has always characterized scientific meetings on Carbohydrate Chemistry.
